40th birthday invite

Yes I am officially over the hill...

one down...25 to go

 I was getting bored tracing all my original drawings in Illustrator so I decided to get started on the stitching. This design is complete, I just need to do some finishing off. 

I obviously didn't the whole lot  done for Cleo's birthday. I decided to make a Little Red Riding Hood cape and Superhero cape instead. 

I have started on 'C' for Carrot. I will do C, L, E, O next

annushka: the label

I no longer have the logo file used on this label. It got stolen with my computer a couple of years ago. I have been pondering whether I should redesign the logo. I guess I wait until I have used all of these labels - probably about 970 to go.

  

Bookcover

I designed the cover of this book which was published in October 2005 by Melbourne University Press. I received a complimentary copy from the publishers that our little Fox Terrier X, Jersey, proceeded to chew up. I must admit to getting a kick out of seeing the cover unexpectably staring back at me from the bookshop shelf. I guess because it caught my eye it could mean that the design achieves something it's supposed to...

Is Not Magazine

Last night I went along to the launch of Is Not Magazine at Loop. It was a perfect night to spill into Meyers Place where the mag was posted.

I think the whole effort (website, issue #1, launch, etc) is fantastic. I have huge admiration for the motivation and discipline of these guys to produce such an independent and progressive project.

designed to help

The Designed To Help project has been dreamt up by the i Lovedust team.  The idea is to produce a book of graphic design/art/illustration to raise money for the tsunami crisis in Asia.

I was involved with dearjohn.org a website that was attempting to use free downloadable design to help get John Howard voted out at the last election.

Although we were not successful in getting the old rat out of office we feel that we were effective in reaching out to people and getting a bit of media attention to help with the cause.
